Eric Rivas is a long time Tampa, Florida resident that goes by the alias of “Twin Turbo” when it comes to his photographic ventures. His interests in photography goes back to more than a decade and during that time he has taken his skills to new, personal, sinister and eccentric levels.
Known as the official photographer of Tampa Bay Area Djs, DJ Trix, DJ Vinny Foo and DJ Hi-Def, he has been capturing their every move and antics, but at the same time increasing his portfolio and experiences once the sun goes down. He is also know for his nightlife/nightclub photography, macro photography of DJ equipment, the comic visual project entitled ‘The Nightlife Adventures of Mr. Pinkus’ and his dark and serious self portraits.
Eric Rivas has fully embraced photography as an art form that he has called his own and takes pride in all of the hard work that goes behind all his photography.
Designs in his photography consists of timing, skill, and at times, sheer bravado to capture not only what he sees as art but to express himself without regard or shame.
His expansive portfolio includes photographs taken with multiple cameras ranging from Minolta film, early digital, bridge digital and digital single lens reflex cameras. The evolution from film to digital is clearly evident in his work and it continues to grow and develop.
Eric Rivas is also a writer, poet and motion picture visionary. Although over the past two decades his works of literature have consisted of lighter expressions about the nightlife, hot vacation spots such as South Beach, Miami and Ft. Lauderdale and many other subjects. His tour de force are his dark, ominous and morbid poetry and short stories. Relentless and shocking, he showcases his grim and macabre visions as massive poetic structures. This is clearly evident in such works as ‘I Am The Hearse-Cycle One’, ‘Barn Owl!’ and the major poem ‘Realms Beyond The Grave’. Eric Rivas continues to transform his severe and malefic visions into morose poems such as ‘10,000 Phantoms’, ‘I Am The Hearse-Cycle Two’, the major poem ‘Subsonic’ and ‘The Return Of The Flying Dutchman’.
Twin Turbo is also expanding his photographic portfolio to include glamour, swimsuit, girls night out packages, corporate events, fashions shows, and local bands who seek promotional shots at a reasonable rate.
Eric Rivas is now the official photographer for Peabody’s Billiards and The Palms Lounge in New Tampa.
Currently residing in Wesley Chapel, Eric Rivas has many interests which include stealth military aircraft, vintage high fidelity audio equipment, cheese, chocolate, and having great times with friends. |
